The King’s Army has, reluctantly, decided not to parade in London for the Charles I Commemoration in January 2021. The advice we have been given by The Royal Parks and the Police is that any such gathering would not be acceptable under the COVID-19 precautions.
It follows that we are now planning to celebrate the 50th time that the King’s Army will march in commemoration of Charles I on Sunday 30th January 2022. This would be very appropriate as the 30th January is the correct date for the commemoration remembering His Majesty’s Horrid Murder. Assuming this event is allowed to proceed, all King’s Army members are invited to attend this momentous occasion.
Almost all English Civil War Society re-enactment events during 2020 were cancelled or deferred. We hope to restart a season of re-enactment as soon as permissible in 2021, perhaps with smaller events involving up to 30 participants. The first Major Muster is scheduled for the Late May Bank Holiday 2021 in Alton, Hampshire, but this may be deferred to a later date.
